EU border agency accused of mistreating migrants

The pressure group Human Rights Watch published in September 2011 a report called 'The EU’s Dirty Hands. Frontex Involvement in Ill-Treatment of Migrant Detainees in Greece'.

In the report the European Union’s border agency stood accused of mistreating migrants trying to get into the EU from Turkey, by sending them to overcrowded detention centres in Greece which its own top officials have decried as unfit for purpose.
