Estonia becomes 17th member of the euro zone

Estonia joined the European Union in 2004 and adopted the euro on 1 January 2011. In his 2011 New Year’s address Prime Minister Andrus Ansip said 'That’s one small step for the Eurozone and one giant leap for Estonia'.
