A meeting of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council took place on 16-17 June 2016, in Luxembourg. The agenda included the following topics: + Policy debate on the 2016 European Semester, approving the employment and social aspects of the country specific recommendations (CSRs); + Information on progress regarding the accessibility directive for products and services, the posting of workers directive, the revised directive protecting workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogers or mutagens at work and the equal treatment directive; + Information on the Skills Agenda for Europe, adopted on 10 June; + Adoption of conclusions on an integrated approach for combating poverty and social exclusion and on a new start for a strong social dialogue; + Adoption of conclusions in response to the EC's strategic engagement for gender equality and on the EC's list of actions to advance LGBTI equality; + Adoption of conclusion on food products improvement, a one health approach to combast antimicrobial resistance and on strengthening the balance in the EU pharmaceutical system; + Information on the agreement reached regarding the rules for medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medial devices; + Adoption of directive on uniform technical requirements for inland waterway vessels. |
