A meeting of the Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Council was held on 22-23 May 2017. The agenda includes the following topics:

+ Adoption of a resolution on the development of the (structured) dialogue with the young people in the context of policies for European coordination in the youth field;

+ Adoption of conclusions on the strategic perspectives for European cooperation in the youth field, providing guidance to the European Commission as it carries out a mid-term evaluation of the EU Youth Strategy;

+ Adoption of conclusions on the role of youth work in supporting young people's development of essential life skills to facilitate their transition to adulthood, active citizenship and working life;

+ Adoption of a recommendation on the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning;

+ Discussion on the progress regarding the Europass proposal;

+ Adoption of general approach on a proposal for a revised directive on audiovisual media services (AVMSD);

+ Adoption of conclusions on an EU strategy for international cultural relations, following up on the Communication released by the European Commission and the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Policy;

+ Adoption of a resolution on the European Union work plan for sport (2017-2020);

+ Adoption of conclusions on sport as a platform for social inclusion;

+ Discussion on the development of a media policy that supports social objecives in the area of sport.
