Economy, finance and the euro publications are prepared by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs. Publications are divided into four series.

Institutional papers are reports analysing the economic situation and economic developments, which serve to underpin economic policy-making by the European Commission, the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament.

Economic briefs inform discussion on economic policy and stimulate debate.

Discussion papers increase awareness of the technical work being done by staff and seek comments and suggestions for further analysis.

Technical papers are reports and data compiled by the staff of the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs.
