On the opening day of the Royal Welsh Show on the 18 July 2016, Cabinet Secretary for the Environment and Rural Affairs in the Welsh Government, Lesley Griffiths, highlighted the opportunities to forge a distinct, made-in-Wales approach for the farming, food and environmental sector following the UK’s decision in June 2016 to leave the EU. The First Minister and the Cabinet Secretary emphasised that agricultural and environmental policy was entirely devolved to Wales, creating an opportunity for the sector and Welsh Government to work together to form future programmes, policies and regulations tailor made for Wales’ unique needs. |
