Commission doubtful over ‘benefits tourism’ claims

The European Commission responded coldly to calls from four EU Member States (Austria, Germany, Netherlands, and the UK) in March 2013 to curb so-called ‘benefits tourism’ by introducing rules prohibiting EU nationals expelled for benefits fraud from returning.
