The European Commission approved on 23 November 2016 the proposed acquisition of St Jude Medical by Abbott Laboratories, in accordance to the EU Merger Regulation. The approval was conditional on Abbott divesting two devices used in cardiovascular treatments. Both US-based companies develop and market medical devices. |
