Report of an important foreign policy speech by United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron in London on the 14 November 2001. He described the eurozone crisis as an 'opportunity' to transform the European Union, vowing to fight for a tighter budget, less regulation, a renewed push for growth and a repatriation of powers from Brussels to member states.

But he added that Britain’s destiny was to remain a member of the EU.

He also said that he would prefer the EU to be a 'flexible network' rather than the 'rigidity of a bloc'.
