Results and analysis of the Presidential Election held in Bulgaria on the 6 and 13 November 2016. Socialist candidate Rumen Radev won the election with 59.4% of the vote. He was seen as friendly to Russia. Tsetska Tsacheva, the candidate of the ruling centre-right GERB party and choice of Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, received 36.2% of the vote. As a result Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said he would resign. |
