European Commission officials have claimed September 2010 that a World Trade Organisation ruling finally proves their case that Boeing has received 'massive subsidies' to make its passenger jets.

The confidential interim report from the WTO is the first on EU claims that the US aircraft maker benefited from $24bn in subsidies, including $5.7bn for its latest model aircraft, the 787 Dreamliner passenger jet.

As in past instalments of the six-year-old dispute, the confidential nature of the WTO ruling on the 15 September 2010 makes it difficult for outsiders to assess in detail.
