Britain sues EU over banker bonus cap

EurActiv reported on the 26 September 2013 that Britain had launched a legal challenge to the European Union's cap on bankers' bonuses which London feared would hurt its financial industry.

BBC News reported on the 5 March 2014 that the UK-based banks Lloyds and Barclays were going to avoid EU bonus cap by paying shares instead.
