Britain defiant on EU education goals

Repoprt of the Council Conclusions on the role of education and training in the implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy adopted by the EU Member States on the 14 February 2011.

EU Education Ministers gathered to discuss their efforts to achieve the education targets set out in the 'Europe 2020' strategy for growth and jobs. However, the United Kingdom refused to set national targets as agreed by the European Council in June 2010 and argued that they were under no legal obligation to do so.
