Report of developments in the Greece debt crisis negotiations between Greece and the eurozone governments and the Troika (European Commission, European Central bank and International Monetary Union) at a meeting of Eurozone Finance Ministers, Brussels, 25 June 2015 and the European Council, Brussels, 25 June 2015. European Council President Donald Tusk said in the early hours of the 26 June 2015 that there was still no agreement between Greece and the Institutions and hence no agreement in the Eurogroup. Eurozone Finance Ministers would meet again on the 27 June 2015 to hopefully conclude this process. News sources and commentators reported however that as a deal remained elusive, Greece risked bankruptcy if it did not unlock bailout funds by 30 June 2015, when a repayment to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for €1.6bn was due. A deal between Greece and its creditors was considered essential by the 27 June 2015, as various constitutional procedures were necessary in Greece and certain countries before the 30 June dealine. |
