The Netherlands reached a deal with the remaining member states on 15 December 2016 regarding a text to put an end concerns shown by Dutch voters over the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. The Dutch prime minister still warned that this solution would not enjoy guaranteed approval by the country's parliament. That endorsement was eventually provided on 22 February 2017. The Agreement was signed in 2014 between the two sides. However, a referendum in April 2016 led to its rejection by Dutch voters. |
